Woohoo for Windows!!

As a part of making our house actually warm in the winter and cool in the summer - we have obtained a solid bid to replace the windows in our house. We have those old stinky single pane aluminum. Which - after we did the insulation - sweat like none other. It wasn't a problem the first winter because the temperature was equal inside and out!

We are so excited!!!

Laurie enableb me with a pattern and look what she snuck in the package! Some of her beautiful stitch markers. I love them so much and they are my favorite color. Thanks again! :)

I resurrected the Multi-Color top that I started so long ago. I really want to be able to wear it this summer. Must finish these languishing projects!

I am avoiding all temptation of buying the La Lana Wools yarn for Lady Eleanor #2. I must finish some things around here before I buy more yarn. My yarn stash is obscene to me, so it must be decreased before I add again. The tricky part will actually be abiding by this restriction!

Perfect Weekend (a week late)

My husband and I had three glorious days off together this past holiday weekend. He normally has to work at holiday times, but was able to take all 3 days off. This has not occurred in a long time. It was so nice.

For Valentine's Day, he gifted me with a shopping spree. The boy spoils me rotten! Saturday he bought me some beautiful earrings and a new watch on my "spree". Had some lunch and ended the day with a Strawberry Julius. Mmmmmmm.

Sunday was spent hiking up at Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge. It was such a beautiful day and Gracie had lots of fun hiking to the top of the falls. Now I feel like I have done 5 million stairs. :)

Here is a view of the falls from the bottom.

And another looking all the way down!

"You can't see me"

Monday we spent cleaning out one of the spare rooms and completely cleaning/organizing the garage. It felt so good to get some real work done around here. And the weather was beautiful! Not really warm, but the sun was out and gave us a sneak peak of spring.

It was so wonderful spending quality time with pup and hubby. Exactly what I needed.

Oh the Pain

So this has been a bad week. Let me start off by saying that I have always had tons of headaches. Eye strain, tension, stress, dehydration, lack of food – you name it, I get it. Sort of thing that I just deal with, take my Excedrin when they come on and I’m usually good. Well I had one Monday that was terrible and extending into Tuesday. Made it really hard to work. Usually I just deal – it is the kind that medication usually didn’t touch. Due to the nagging of my husband and coworkers, I was able to get into see my doctor. Lo and behold, I get migraines. Which is really good to diagnose, but in reality still stinks. I have a wonderful, expensive miracle drug that kicks it to the curb. After the doctor gave it to me Tuesday (with some caffeine) and had me lie down for a half hour – I could not believe how much better I felt. It was still there but wasn’t at the “feel like I’m going to explode” stage. Made me realize that I have been silly every other time I have experienced this and done nothing about it. I have gotten one both Thursday and Friday mornings, but licked it with the meds. Blah blah, now keeping a journal to try and track these darn things. Doctor said that it is normal to experience recurring ones when you let the initial episode go so long. So I now carry my miracle prescription with some anti-nausea pills with me at all times. Yep, that has been my medical woe this week.

But, there has been knitting (when I haven’t been knocked out!). Finished the Whisky Scarf for my husband. He loves it…yet hasn’t worn it. Although I guess he hasn’t had the opportunity yet. I made it about 19 inches shorter than the pattern. Hubby isn’t a super tall guy, and we felt this was long enough for his needs.

Started work on the U of O Duck Legwarmers for the sis. Almost done. I need to get these shipped off soon, since it will take awhile to get to Austria!

I keep working my way on Earth Stripe Wrap. Finally in the second repeat. No progress pics on this since it is more of the same. Really wish I was wearing it right now. Plus, I have decided that I am going to buy the La Lana Wools Forever Random Blends to make Lady Eleanor again. We received a beautiful bonus at work and I am going to treat myself. But I am not allowing myself to order the kit until I finish this wrap. Maybe that will give me the needed motivation. Because apparently the joy of wearing a beloved finished item is no longer sufficient!
