Best Compliment

Just received the best compliment from my little sis. She has been e-mailing us from Europe about her progress and random factoids. Here is one about me:

"Best time investment before the trip besides all of Dad's planning = Lisa's work on those leg warmers, they are fantastic!!"

That makes me super happy - I might have to try and make another pair to ship over to her!

The bronchitis is getting better with all my med intake. Had to rip out the Urchin hat. It made me look like I had a shower cap / alien head on. I am knitting a little tighter and making the smaller size. Hopefully it will fit a little better.

Ever since I made Lady Eleanor, I have been wanting to knit another. It is by far my favorite hand made item. I am really lusting after the La Lana Forever Random Blends that is featured in the book. It is time to start saving the pennies!

Blech

Christmas was lovely this year, except for me being sick. Went to the doc and sure enough, got the bronchitis again. She grounded me for two days and I have an arsenal of antibiotics, steroid nasal spray and doped up cough syrup. No fun, but I hope to be finally feeling better soon.

Check out some of my new goodies. Very excited about these books and some of the interesting patterns inside.

Look what my mom made me!!! A super cute beret out of Sublime Kid Mohair. This is my new favorite hat and totally appreciate the time she put into it. So cool! (This is me half out of it on Christmas Eve).

Finished the tea cozy for my husband's grandma. She really liked it, although her teapot is a little bigger than my MIL told me. I have it modeled here on a 2 cup, but hers is more like a 4 cup. Luckily it stretched a bit and will still work.

Not pictured are a new lens (50mm) for my camera and a speedlight, so I can bounce the flash off the ceiling for indoor shots. Woohoo! Both these items are super cool. New fun toys to play with!

Ooh and the most exciting thing!! Look what we got on Christmas Day...Snow! It has been a long time since we have had any bit of snow on Christmas. It was very cool.

Hope everybody had a wonderful holiday and that you and yours are in good health! :)

Not Right

It is two days before Christmas and I am sooooo sick. Got it all: stuffy head, sinus pain and pressure, nose congestion, coughing and sneezing. Ugh. Not right at all.

Saw my little sis off today. She is headed for Austria for three months. I was a crying mess at the airport, I will miss her. But I made her a neato Christmas gift she had asked for: leg warmers! She had no idea that I actually knit them and was very surprised. I thought they turned out nice and should keep her legs nice and warm while she is there.

Actually raided the stash for this one, used up bits of Cascade 220 I had lying around. I have one more Christmas gift to magically finish in the next two days - a tea cosy for my hubby's grandma. Another stash busting project.

Okay, back to resting. I must try and get the rest of the gifts wrapped. Really wish I hadn't gotten sick!

I hope everybody has a fantastic Christmas / holiday time!

Boring updates

Endless rounds of mock ribbing. But it is slowly growing as I ride the bus to and fro every day. It is so nice to have an easy project that is bus-able.
Wound up the pretty Knit Global thick and thin. Love how it looks.
I cannot believe that Christmas is less than 3 weeks away. I've got to get out cards, get a tree, decorate and finish shopping. Luckily we are about half done with our shopping for the family peeps. Love, love online shopping. I can barely remember a time before it. Makes it easier than running to 10 different stores looking for the goods.
