What are the Odds?

This weekend was filled with not-too-much-excitement. Just the way I like it!

My hubby got all psyched to go see the Portland Timbers play soccer on Saturday. They were playing Sunderland, a team that is in the English Premiere League. My husband loves watching soccer, but he likes the soccer played internationally. So he was pumped to see an English team in action. Here is the sign for our lovely PGE Park. What's that on the sign you say? Well apparently here in Portland we have Mullet night. We got a good snicker out of that one.

So we went to the game with my brother in law, his wife and a friend from church. My BIL's wife and I both brought our knitting to the game. It made sense (I'm not that into soccer). Well after we both pulled out our knitting, the two guys behind us started piping up. One of them apparently knit and told us that if we needed any help we could ask him. He then proceeds to make fun of the way we were knitting! Said we were doing it the "slow way". I wanted to sock him in the mouth, he was so annoying. It is one thing to acknowledge something a complete stranger is doing, but don't make fun of them. Arrgh. I felt like giving him a piece of my mind, but I didn't.

I also wanted to give the stadium a piece of my mind. First off, they don't allow you to bring in any of your own water. No water bottles, no nothing. Then, there are no drinking fountains inside the stadium. If you want water (which is a necessity of life by the way) you have to pay $3.50 for a small bottle. I could not believe it, I was so ticked. Such a racket. What is wrong with our world that people are making money off water. WATER. We need water to live people. Jerks.

Did a little knitting. I almost have one glove of Cigar done. I am okay happy with it. I feel it is too tight on my husband's fingers, but he likes it that way. So I'm going with it. I had to make many modifications (apparently my husband has an irregular hand)! But I'm learning how to modify a pattern to fit someone specific. And the 2 circular needle method is completely awesome. I don't think I will ever use DPN's again!

I'm off to see the acupuncturist today. Blech. I hate needles and I get to have many stuck in me. I know, I know. People say it doesn't hurt, but that makes no difference. I still don't want to go! Hopefully all goes well.

Ok, so I obviously missed the last post, but what a freakin' cute puppy! I love puppies...though not as much as I love kittens. But you're right, you definitely need a yard if you want a dog.

The cigar glove turned out great (even if it is a little tight)!

Sending you good thoughts while you're at the "Pokey" man.

It might have been a first if you had started a fight, at a soccer game, over knitting! The idiot would have had to tell his buddies (insert whine here)"She wasn't knitting fast enough!" They would all raise their needles to him in sympathy for his black eye...and needle hole in his arm!

Mullet night? How scary. I love the 2-circs method too, but still harbor a soft spot for dpns--call me old fashioned. The glove looks great!

Ha! We have mullet night at US Cellular Field (Chicago White Sox) also. And we also have to pay an outrageous 3.50 for water. It drives me crazy!
