Things About Me

Yep, that's me. So I was reading through some lists on other peoples blogs and thought they were really interesting. So I though I would try to come up with a list about me. It might be boring or you might not care. In that case, just don't read it! But if you really want to know some things about me, read on....

1. I have lived in the same place all my life.
2. When I was 1 year old I went to Germany with my parents.
3. I have a passport with my baby picture on it.
4. I had a lazy eye when I was little.
5. I couldn't see out of my left eye.
6. I have been wearing glasses since kindergarten (age 6).
7. I used to have to wear an eye patch to strengthen my left eye.
8. I hated it.
9. My mom would put decorative stickers on it that would say things like "closed for repairs".
10. Now, if I didn't get special lenses, they would look like coke bottles.
11. I wore braces for 7 years.
12. I hated them.
13. But now my teeth are purdy and straight!
14. I am not good about wearing my retainer.
15. When I was about 12 I went down a slip'n'slide in our backyard and cut my knee open.
16. My brother's little metal airplane was the culprit.
17. My dad just put a big bandaid on it.
18. My mother flipped out and made him take me to emergency room.
19. I had many, many stitches on the inside and outside.
20. Now I have a big scar.
21. At the of age 7 I begged my parents for piano lessons.
22. I took private piano lessons for 10 years.
23. I continue to play through my church.
24. Piano provides such an emotional escape and release for me.
25. I love classical music. The type of music that makes my heart physically hurt from the beauty of it.
26. I love Mozart.
27. And the movie Amadeus.
28. I really like to read, although I don't do it as much anymore.
29. I really like Tolkien and his works.
30. I love reading novels about Africa.
31. I want to go to Africa someday.
32. I love the wildlife and all the different cultures.
33. I played the piano in the orchestra in high school until it was disbanded.
34. I then played the piano in the jazz band.
35. I wasn't any good. I was too classically trained.
36. I had to be in the regular band because of the jazz band.
37. I played the xylophone and glockenspiel.
38. I met my husband in the band.
39. He broke my heart several times.
40. I married him anyway.
41. We are very happy now.
42. I got my kitty Squeek during a breakup.
43. She is the best thing I ever did.
44. I can't imagine life without her sweet face in it.
45. I can't remember how long I have been knitting.
46. My grandmother taught me.
47. I am religious.
48. But not in your face religious. It is much more personal for me.
49. I lack any form of patience.
50. I can be quick to anger.
51. And often pick fights for no reason.
52. This is one thing I wish I could learn to not do.
53. I can be very emotional.
54. I take things very personally.
55. I used to not be able to take a joke very well.
56. But I am getting better at that.
57. My favorite color is blue.
58. My favorite meal is marinated flank steak and Grandma's potatoes. Yum!
59. I drove my parent's blue Volvo station wagon in highschool.
60. It was awesome. The theme song was Low Rider.
61. I like video games.
62. Especially RPG's (I know, I'm a nerd).
63. I have never been super athletic.
64. Although I played volleyball in grade school and highschool.
65. I quit after my sophmore year (along with several other girls) because it wasn't fun anymore.
66. I don't consider myself to be very "social".
67. I would rather stay in than go out.
68. I am uncomfortable in new situations.
69. I still have nightmares about not being able to find my locker.
70. I am very protective of my family.
71. I can say things about them but nobody else can!
72. I never used to like to be apart from them.
73. Sleepovers were hard.
74. I am very close to my mother.
75. We are very much alike.
76. We both knit.
77. We inspire each other in our knitting.
78. I love jewelry.
79. Especially diamonds!
80. I have a husband who buys me diamonds!
81. He generally spoils me all the time.
82. But I refused to be called a spoiled brat. Because I don't think I am one of those.
83. Apparently I make lots of facial expressions during everything I do.
84. I like to laugh.
85. I love to scare myself and see scary movies.
86. I have very vivid dreams sometimes.
87. I wear my heart on my sleeve.
88. People know when I am upset or sad.
89. This list is really hard to do!
90. I'm done!

Can't do it. Can't get to 100. Probably if I really, really tried. But I will be surprised if anyone reads any of it. So I'm stopping!
